Soprano Sylvia O’Brien, cellist Christopher Marwood and pianist Michael McHale come together in an unusual combination to perform interesting and uncommon works.
Equally at home in the classical and contemporary repertoire, Irish soprano Sylvia O’Brien has impressed audiences in opera, oratorio and chamber music. Christopher Marwood is the cellist of the Vanbrugh Quartet which he joined in 1985. Christopher founded the West Cork Chamber Music Festival with Francis Humphrys in 1996 and remains director of the chamber music masterclass programme.
He teaches cello and chamber music at Cork School of Music, DIT Conservatory and at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. At a mere 31 years, Michael McHale has moved off the lists of ‘rising stars’ and has firmly established himself among the first rank of pianists with an international career that has taken him all over the world to major venues in Europe, Asia, North and South America.

The recital is followed by a Meet the Artist reception. All welcome.
