Maxim Rysanov
Recognised as one of the world’s finest and most charismatic viola players, Maxim Rysanov performs worldwide as a concerto soloist and chamber musician. Among recent notable appearances are the BBC Proms 2010 where he performed both with EUYO and Sir Colin Davis and at the world-famous Last Night with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Jirí Belohlávek. Rysanov is a past recipient of both the Classic FM Gramophone Young Artist of the Year and BBC New Generation Awards.
He has a strong interest in new music and has premiered works and new commissions by many composers including Richard Dubugnon. His instrument, a Giuseppe Guadagnini (1780) is on loan from the Elise Mathilde Foundation.
Katya Apekisheva
Katya is in demand internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, and has been described by Gramophone Magazine as ‘a profoundly gifted artist’ who has ‘already achieved artistic greatness’. A prizewinner at the Leeds Piano Competition and Scottish Piano Competition, Katya has appeared as soloist with many ofthe world’s leading orchestras.
