The Irish Chamber Orchestra was the first professional orchestra in the country to establish its home outside Dublin. Since then it has gained a remarkable reputation as a fresh and vibrant force on the Irish and international music scenes.
Philip Glass, undoubtedly the best known composer of our times, is 75 this year and to celebrate this the ICO presents his beautiful and powerful Symphony No. 3.Schubert’s sublime Rondo in A is a fresh, ardently lyrical and totally lovable piece. Kinsaleborn Linda Buckley’s Fall Approaches was inspired by evocative Icelandic poetry.
Dvorák composed his joyful Serenade for Strings in less than two weeks and it remains one of his most popular works.
