Recognised for her remarkably distinctive tone and exceptional musicality, saxophonist Amy Dickson made history by becoming the first saxophonist to win a Classic BRIT Award. In 2021 Amy brought her ‘Take a Breath’ programme to two Sligo schools via zoom.
We teach them (the children) how and when to use good, relaxed breathing in every-day life, especially as a tool to help themselves in times of stress and anxiety. During the sessions I am also able to introduce them to classical music.

British pianist Simon Mulligan has been described by the Times of London as ‘the most abundantly gifted of pianists’.

The trio’s programme takes elements of folk and popular music from around the world and uses them to conjure up unfamiliar and diverse soundscapes. Featuring the jazz influenced Histoire Du Soldat and Bartok’s Contrasts (partly inspired by the blues aspect of Ravel’s violin Sonata) alongside a new Music Network commission by Ronan Guilfoyle – expect to hear well-known and new music in a beguiling and bold sound world.
