Barry Douglas has strong family connections to Sligo – we are delighted to have him back in 2025 to play for Con Brio audiences.



Barry Douglas established a major international career since winning the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Competition, Moscow. As pianist and conductor he has performed throughout the world. From his foundation of the chamber orchestra Camerata Ireland in 1999 and the Clandeboye Festival in 2001, Barry continues to make an unmatched contribution to celebrate and nurture the very best of young musicians from Northern and Southern Ireland. He has been awarded the O.B.E. and C.B.E. for his contribution to the peace process in Ireland by promoting dialogue and collaboration through musical education.
